Trilingual Education

Our trilingual school contributes efficiently to your child’s functional multilingualism. Multilingualism promotes a child’s cognitive development and enables the child to think more abstractly and creatively and to have a higher level of language awareness than their monolingual peers.

The immersion method is considered to be the most successful method of foreign language acquisition. It is also the most natural way! Children begin to understand and hear the spoken language of instruction “on their own” because they want and need to be able to follow the lesson.

According to studies, foreign languages spoken in immersion programmes have a significantly higher intensity than in traditional school lessons. This increases our students’ ability to learn all three languages perfectly.

Following the immersion method, our students are immersed in the language in class and acquire it quickly:

• Our years of experience have shown that after about six weeks of lessons, our pupils feel they understand the teachers of the respective foreign language(s).
• About six weeks later, they began to converse with them more and more in the languages.
• Our pupils not only learn everyday vocabulary in German, French and English, but also subject-specific phrases and terms. Over time, they are able to read and write in three languages and even articulate themselves in the different school subjects.

Generally speaking, multilingual children are able to think and act more flexibly, which means that they can empathise with unfamiliar contexts more quickly and act creatively. Growing up multilingual stimulates the brain – so why not encourage this from an early age?
