Concept

GIS Yaounde works according to the guidelines of the German Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs and the official cameroonian curricula. Our teaching concept harmonizes both curricula.

GIS Yaounde works on a project-based basis and implements holistic learning methods. In this way, the students can combine the different learning contents, as well as interdependent and interdisciplinary. According to the German guidelines for the elementary level, we offer learning environments that stimulate these different learning fields simultaneously. Our main goals in the elementary field are therefore

• To promote the language acquisition of children
• To support the children in learning how they can learn in the best possible way
• To actively support the children in decision-making processes
• To lay the foundation for gender-sensitive pedagogical work
• To work inclusive
• to support children with developmental delays too individually and specifically

Projects at elementary level are aimed at the following fields of educational work:

• Language acquisition and communication skills in English and German
• Pre-accession to scientific and technological skills
• Acquisition of practical everyday skills
• Arts and crafts
• Motor ability

Our nursery school groups have specially designed timetables. However, these also allow for excursions and outings on special occasions. Furthermore, holidays and cultural customs are an occasion for us to teach.
